Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information this website collects from visitors, who receives it, and what you can do about it.

Effective August 13, 2026.

What this policy covers

This policy is about website visitors. It covers information collected when you browse this site, send a message through the contact form, or book a consultation.

It is not a notice of privacy practices for clinical records. Assessment records, evaluation reports, and the confidentiality of a working relationship with Erica Salzman are governed by separate professional and legal obligations, and by the paperwork you receive if you become a client. Nothing here changes any of that. If you have questions about how your child's assessment records are handled, please ask directly.

Information collected, and who receives it

When you send a message

The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, your role (parent, school, or clinician), your student's grade or age, which service you're asking about, how you found the practice, and whatever you write in the message field.

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, which hosts this website, and are emailed to Erica. Please do not include detailed health information in the message field. A short note about what you're looking for is enough, and the rest is better discussed directly.

When you book a consultation

Booking is handled by Cal.com through a scheduler embedded on the contact page. When you book, Cal.com collects your name, email address, phone number, and any notes you add, and shares them with Erica so the appointment can be scheduled. Cal.com's own privacy policy governs what it does with that information.

When you simply browse

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and move through the site. Analytics collects things like which pages you viewed, how you arrived, your approximate location, and general device and browser information, and it sets cookies to do so. Your IP address is transmitted to Google as part of this.

The analytics property is configured to limit this as far as the tool allows. Google Signals, advertising features, and ad personalization are turned off, data sharing with other Google products and services is turned off, and data is retained for the shortest period Google offers. This site does not run advertising pixels, and does not share information with advertising platforms.

This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. Doing so sends your IP address to Google on each page load.

Netlify, as the host, keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.

Third parties, summarized

  • Netlify: website hosting, server logs, and contact form submissions.
  • Google: analytics and web fonts.
  • Cal.com: consultation scheduling.

Information is not sold. It is not shared with advertisers. Each of the providers above is used to run the site, and each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with what it receives.

Reviewing, correcting, or deleting your information

You can ask what information this site holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email erica@theexceptionallearner.com and say what you'd like. Requests about website information, such as a contact form submission, are honored as far as the systems above allow. Requests about clinical or assessment records follow a separate process, and Erica will explain it if that's what you're asking about.

Do Not Track

Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal, but there is no shared industry standard for how sites should respond to it. This site does not currently change its behavior in response to that signal. You can limit analytics collection using your browser's privacy settings, a tracker-blocking extension, or Google'sAnalytics opt-out browser add-on.

Tracking across other websites

This site does not use advertising or social media tracking pixels, and does not permit third parties to collect information about your activity across other websites through it. The analytics described above is limited to this site, and the advertising and cross-product data sharing features that would extend it have been turned off.

Children

This site is written for parents, schools, and clinicians, not for children. The contact form asks for a student's grade or age, which a parent or professional provides. Please share only what's needed to start a conversation.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who receives it, the updated policy will be posted here with a new effective date. Please check back if it matters to you.
