Terms
Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of this website. By using the site, you agree to them. They cover the website only. The terms of assessment and consultation services are in the consent paperwork clients receive.
Effective September 22, 2026.
Who runs this site
This website is operated by Salzman Educational Psychology, PC, doing business as The Exceptional Learner, the practice of Erica Salzman, a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP #4465). In these terms, "the practice" means The Exceptional Learner.
Information, not advice
The content on this site is general information about psychoeducational assessment, consultation, and related topics. It is not psychological, educational, medical, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for an evaluation of your child by a qualified professional.
Reading this site, sending a message, or booking a consultation does not make you or your child a client of the practice. A working relationship begins only when Erica agrees to provide services and you sign the practice's consent paperwork.
No outcome is promised. An assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis or qualification for special education services.
Not for emergencies
This site is not monitored for emergencies, and the practice does not provide emergency services. If you or your child are in crisis or in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
The Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available any time by calling or texting 988. In Los Angeles County, the Department of Mental Health help line is (800) 854-7771.
Messages, booking, and email
The contact form and the consultation scheduler are for starting a conversation. Please keep messages brief and leave out detailed health information. Those details belong in a direct conversation.
Email and web forms are ordinary internet communications. They are not a secure channel for confidential clinical information, and they are not monitored around the clock.
How the information you send is collected and handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Confidentiality of clinical work
The confidentiality of assessment records, evaluation reports, and any working relationship with Erica is governed by California law, professional ethics, and the consent paperwork you receive as a client. These website terms do not change any of that.
Content and intellectual property
The text, photographs, logo, and design of this site belong to Salzman Educational Psychology, PC, or are used with permission. You may view, print, or share pages for personal, non-commercial use. Copying, republishing, or reusing content commercially without written permission is not allowed.
Links to other sites
This site links to outside resources, including the scheduling tool on the contact page, LinkedIn, and organizations mentioned in the content. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and the practice is not responsible for their content.
Acceptable use
When you use this site, you agree not to:
- use it for any unlawful purpose;
- interfere with how the site, its forms, or its scheduler work, or try to get around its security;
- submit false or misleading information through the contact form or scheduler;
- scrape or bulk-copy the site's content, other than ordinary search-engine indexing.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided as is. Reasonable care goes into keeping it accurate and available, but the practice does not promise that it is free of errors or always reachable.
To the fullest extent California law allows, Salzman Educational Psychology, PC is not liable for damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website. Nothing in these terms limits the practice's professional obligations to its clients.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Licensing and complaints
Erica Salzman is licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Educational Psychologist, LEP #4465.
The Board of Behavioral Sciences receives and responds to complaints regarding services provided within the scope of practice of licensed educational psychologists. You may contact the board online at www.bbs.ca.gov, or by calling (916) 574-7830.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
